The VNA is your one resource for all the home health care services you need. Founded in 1885, the VNA is the largest, most experienced home health agency in our community.

Our people and programs service over 25,000 patients each year with over 500,000 home visits across the area. Our caregivers are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year. Whenever your need arises, we can be there to answer the call.

The VNA of WNY gives you access to our services where you live in 10 counties of Western New York.

  • The VNA is certified by the New York State Department of Health as a home health agency (CHHA) that participates in the Medicare program.

Patient Admission Information

The Visiting Nursing Association of WNY/VNA Home Care Services (VNA) thanks you for choosing our network of services for your home care needs. Our network is one of the largest and most comprehensive providers of home care services in Western New York. With a reputation for quality, a far reaching service area, locally based agencies and America’s longest home health care tradition, the VNA is a popular choice among consumers. The VNA is an affiliate of Kaleida Health.

General Hours

The offices of the VNA are open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, including Holidays. The Pharmacy Department remains open until 5:00 pm. In addition, the Erie County office is open until 8:30 pm on weekdays and from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm on weekends. If you need to call the VNA, please call the office nearest you.

After Hours

There is a nurse available on call after regular office hours. If you need to speak with the nurse, call the office nearest you. The operator will take your name and phone number and the nurse will call you. Additionally, there is a pharmacist on call for any pharmacy related concerns. Delivery is available 24 hours if needed.

Although the agency makes every effort to provide you with the best possible services, if you have any concerns regarding your care please contact the Manager of your team and we will make every effort to resolve your concern immediately.

The VNA is not an emergency service. In case of medical emergency, phone 911 for immediate assistance.

In almost all cases, the skilled services provided by the VNA are reimbursed by your insurance carrier. Services may be reviewed by your carrier for medical necessity and payment will be limited to the terms of your contract.

Our Patient Financial Services Department will work directly with your insurance carrier for reimbursement. It is your obligation to notify VNA of any changes in your insurance coverage. You will be responsible to pay the VNA for services as a result of non-coverage. Please contact Patient Financial Services at (716) 630-8612 if you have any questions regarding your insurance coverage or if you would like more information regarding our charity care program, payment plan arrangements or other discounts you may qualify for. The VNA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to servicing our community.

We are required to inform you of our list charges, although rates established with the government and local health plans can be significantly less than the list rate. Effective 02/01/2024 our list charges are as follows:

  • That makes VNA of WNY the first home care organization ever to be independently ISO 9001 certified.
  • ISO 9001 is a standard that helps staff create clear and consistent processes of patient care, and ensure that progress is constantly being made toward specific quality objectives.
  • The survey process included a review of our Quality Management System by DNV Healthcare surveyors, interviews with employees and leadership, reviewing our work processes and inspection of our physical environment, including the pharmacy and warehouse.
